I finally finished my beaded scarf. I learned SO much with this project. One thing is that I actually began to recognize the stitches and be able to "read" my own knitting. That was a true revelation!! I also learned the crab stitch to edge. I didn't know this stitch and I found instructions on YouTube. You can find ANYTHING on youtube.com!! I also learned about blocking. My first try just didn't do the trick. So, I did it again and it was great!! I love how it turned out. It's soft and wonderful.
I wear a lot of blue, it's my favorite color. I think this particular shade is bright and rich. I do NOT like the multi color yarn however, and I won't buy that again!
The bead part is a lot of work, but I just love how the beads look and feel. In fact, I have already started another scarf, green this time. It's going so much faster this time around. Not as many mistakes so far. (fingers crossed!)
I got all of my Christmas decorations put away on New Years Day (with dear hubby's help!). It was quite a marathon!!! It felt really good to get my house back to normal. It seems fresh and new. A great way to start out the New Year.
I just had to show a picture of our two kitties. They often fight over the one kitty bed, now that I know they like it, I will pick up another! Lately, they have given up fighting and decided to share. Aren't they precious??
Have a great week!!

Hi Stephanie,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your scarf - it is very nice! Thank you for your comment on my blog and for keeping my sister in prayer.
God Bless you.
Susan
I love your beaded scarf...that's amazing! You definitely have more patience than me!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. I hope your goal list is getting done faster than mine. I love your idea of a digital vision board!
Have a good week,
Debi
Hi Stephanie - your scarf turned out beautiful (I love blue, too!)... and your kitties are oh so precious!!! Maybe ours leave the tree alone becuase they're now 15, although to be honest, I don't really remember them attacking the tree when they were younger either. Although Spotty does like to chew on our fake tree. We always had real trees up until 2 years ago... And he really enjoys chewing plastic evidently. Your two look like siblings... Ours are brother and sister. Thank you for visiting my blog!... Donna @ An Enchanted Cottage
ReplyDeleteStephanie - your beaded scarf is gorgeous! And so are you sweet kitties sharing their cozy bed!!
ReplyDeletelove the scarf! it is amazing when you finally "read" your own knitting. it makes it so much easier!
