Pink Saturday....UFO's

Spaceships and little green men? Nope. I'm talking about those Un-Finished Objects. Do you have any of those? I love to create and make things. Ideas come from everywhere, blogland is especially dangerous territory for this!! I have so many different projects going ALL the time...and AT THE SAME TIME! Some get finished, some get set aside for "later". Some just didn't turn out and get rejected.

I like to get things DONE. So, why do I have such a large collection of UFO's? That is a mystery.

This pink "purse" (or what may end up being a purse eventually) is my latest example. It was inspired by a purse that someone else made, and hers was Darling!! So, I bought the fabric, got some vague instructions, got home and put it in the "later" pile. Almost a YEAR later, I decided to jump in and give it a try. I loved making it, the "tags" were my favorite part, so of course, I put too many on it. I pulled through mostly Pink ones, making it more of a pink purse. Then I ran out of fabric....guess it's finished!! I can't find fabric for the lining. Etc Etc.

It's in the later pile. Haven't given up exactly...just put it off til later.

Walk in the mist

Walk?? We have decided that Pookie has a vocabularity (that he understands...he is not a talking dog...he he) of about 6 words. WALK is his favorite. This morning when I got up and looked out the window, there was a misty fog lingering around everywhere.

We hurried to get out there before it lifted and it was a magical moment that I would like to share with you. I shared this "tour" last summer...what a difference the seasons make.

Enjoy the walk!

We have a seasonal creek that is flowing right now. I just LOVE the sound it makes. It's so peaceful, isn't it?

I'm wearing it right now!

Here it is....another sweatshirt makeover. I'm so excited...I just love it. It's my favorite so far. It's a plain black hanes sweatshirt. I cut it up a bit and added some fabric. This fabric is a small scrap from the thrift store. I love this color.

I love the cut outs. I made them the HARD way...and I learned alllllll about how NOT to do it. It still turned out okay.

This is the cuff on the sleeve. I'm not sure what I was going for here...but I love the result.

Very comfy and cozy!

I still have a few sweatshirts left. Wish I had stocked up more, you sure can't find them in the spring and summer. I also have a stash of sweaters that I want to "refashion".

This was a fun project. I'm looking forward to doing more of it.

Eye Candy

Stop!!
Go get a cup of lovely tea and come back for some "Eye Candy".
Yesterday I went over to my new friend Lori's house. She is a wonderful Jewelry Artist among many other interests, sewing, knitting, embroidery...JUST to name a few. I took some great pictures of her studio, BUT I am not going to show them.....because I completely missed taking pictures of her creations!! I will just HAVE to go back (he he) and take some more photos! We have already decided that we need a "crafting" day to make something wonderful together.

The "Eye Candy" is Lori's collection of jewelry. I was in HEAVEN!
And, you will be too! Lori inherited a vast array of jewelry from vintage to anique.
Sit back and enjoy the BLING.

Help us out.
What is this?
We couldn't figure it out. They seem to hook together somehow. And, each one has an end that something could be looped through.

Maybe you loop a fabric belt through and this is the focal piece? If you know, please leave a comment and satisfy our curiosity!

I am a huge fan of these pins and this one is very special. Lori didn't know what the 2 crystal pieces are, but I am very certain that they are shoe pins, can't you just imagine them on a pair of dressy pumps?

It was just one treasure box after another. I love all the PINK here. That bracelet is adorable!

It's a collection that took a lifetime to build. Look at those little green ball & flower earrings. We think that they look 60's. Maybe paired with a short shift dress and "go-go" boots?? And, of course a pouffy hairdo and false eyelashes!!

Mmmmmmm yummylicious!

This was the case that held most of it. I just love these older cases. Don't you?

I promise to take you on the tour of Lori's fabulous jewelry creations, you will be soooo impressed! Watch for it! Thanks for the visit Lori, I had a TERRIFIC time!

Hearts, hearts, hearts!

My day started out great. I was in a good mood, happy and upbeat. Then it changed and I found my day veering off course in to "one of those days". Does this ever happen to you? I was already feeling frustrated with myself and I wanted to get something in the mail. Of course I was in a hurry, and the downstairs door was locked from the inside! How did that happen?? Hubby had to climb in a window, and it's raining outside...ugh.

I really wanted to change directions and get my day back to the "Happy" road. What could do that better than to receive a gift in the mail? Yippeee!

Doesn't this look like something special?

I won the giveway at Val's blog http://yarnigras.blogspot.com/ .
I love her blog, she is sooooo creative and talented.

Even the wrapping was clever and really NEAT! It's 2 pieces of fabric cut with pinking shears all around the edges. Val, I hope you don't mind if I borrow this idea!!

Here is what was inside! Aren't they wonderful? Each crocheted heart has a pin on the back. I LOVE them!!

Thank you Val!!!

Pink Saturday!!

I'm late for Pink Saturday....but I'm glad to be here AT ALL! We woke up to snow yesterday, which is fun for us, as we do not get snow all that often. Then....the inevitable (so it seems), we lost our power! All Day and Night! No computer and I was having complete withdrawals!! My Mother in Law said it best yesterday...."what a blah day"...there is just nothing to do without electricity!!

Thanks to our Hostess, Beverly!

I am dedicating this Pink Saturday Post to my hubby. Because I love him to pieces, he's pretty great! And...because of this snow"woman":

I think my hubby is still a kid at heart! He built this snowman and asked me for a pink hat...so I could put her on "Pink Saturday". I didn't have a pink hat. So, ON HIS OWN, he found a pink shopping bag and a dark pink plastic lid to something. I just had to post HIS Pink Saturday contribution!

Brrrr....

When I woke up this morning, here is what I saw:

I do NOT think that it was a coincidence that the flowers and card are PINK! Do you?

I hope you are having a FABULOUS day!

Happy Valentines Day to YOU!!

And, Happy Pink Saturday!!

And....there is much more pink for you over at Beverly's....go take a look!

The nicest people....

One of my FAVORITE blogs is She's Sew Pretty. Recently I won a giveaway of one of Betty's glorious pin cushions...it's FABULOUS!

I follow her blog all the time....she is very creative. She noticed my love for scrabble jewelry and OUT OF THE BLUE, she sent me this wonderful package!

Isn't this just SO nice?

MMmmmmmm....scrabble pieces!!

Just so you know...not all scrabble pieces are equal. The ones they make in the newer games are just not as nice. They don't have the rounded edges and that little bit of "bevel". These are the GOOD ONES! I am working on something special for Betty...and I will share it with you when it's done.

Thank you Betty!! YOU are one of the nicest people!!

.

And the OWOH winner is.....

Miss Kool Aid

Congratulations!

I had soooo much fun visiting all of the blogs and I have already won a few giveaways! I can't wait to share them with you, and I will post them as soon as they arrive.

Wasn't that fun??
