And the winner is.....

A BIG thanks to all who entered...I really appreciate your participation!!

First, I put all the entries in this bowl.

Then, I asked my daughter to stop by on her way to work (isn't she precious in her flight attendant uniform?). She drew out the lucky winner.

And, the winner is:

Joy, from Joy to the Blog. Her blog is one of my all time favorites!! Congratulations Joy!

I learned so many new things with this giveaway...thanks to Linnea for telling me about putting on the "blog follower" gadget. I really enjoy this feature, it's an easy way for me to see which of my favorite blogs have posted lately.

That was fun. I'll have to start thinking about the next giveaway....hmmmm, what will it be?

Who did it?

I WAS having a good day...I went to ASG Classic Clothes and met a wonderful group of ladies. I got to go by the bead store...which is always fun. It's Friday, so that means "hamburger night" at the local Vet Hall with my Mother in Law. Yep. Good Day.

We were only gone about 45 minutes. And while we were gone, something happened. We walked in and my knitting project was strewn about. The bag it was in was ripped wide open! They attacked my office and it was a wreck....over to hubby's office and more mayhem!

My knitting needles are chewed to bits.

What the heck happened? This is unexpected and unusual. Yes, there are moments when the dogs (and cats) get in to things. But, not on this scale.

Here's the question....Who did this?

Does Zula look guilty to you?

Or was it Pookie?

Anyone want a couple of dogs?

Facebook?

I just found Facebook. Do you know about this? I've actually had an account there for a really long time, I just didn't ever get in there figure it out. A friend of mine kept sending me little notices (that I ignored), and FINALLY I got on and played around. Well, I'm HOOKED!

It's a social networking place, kind of like myspace, but NOT. Not at all like blogging as you never really "say" all that much. But, it is very interesting. I found friends from the past, associates from my company and I'm even meeting new friends through groups. In fact, I even found a lady who is knitting a beaded scarf...just as I am doing right now too! take a look at hers: http://rozspot.blogspot.com/

Are you a Facebook Fanatic? Do you really want to know what your friends are doing, right now, at this minute? Ha!

It's another way to be in touch with the world right here from my house and I love that feeling of being 'connected'.

If you are not on Facebook, I will tell you what "I" am doing right now.

I'm off to an ASG meeting. American Sewing Guild. It's my first time with this group. I am hoping to learn more about making clothing. If you read my blog, you will know that I have struggled with this.

I ate too much over the holidays! Now....

I gave myself permission to eat and cheat over the holidays. It seems like everyone sent us baskets filled with all sorts of goodies to eat. I have NO willpower. None. I got a box of Baklava and I made an attempt to eat the whole box! Mmmmm, I want some right now just thinking about it.

My daughter ate just one and said it was so rich that she could not finish it. I could not admit how many of those lovelies I had eaten, it would seem humanly impossible. Maybe if I had eaten one more, I would have had to go to the emergency room!! Seriously...they were THAT good!!

And, there was feast after feast. Yummy rich HIGH carb, loads of sugar. After a while I stopped feeling as great as usual. I'm so glad that I don't eat like that all the time. No energy, hard to sleep and even my mood wasn't as happy (except when I was eating the goodies...then my mood was GREAT!).

And, NOW

I am going to have to pay the price. Yes. The clothes are too tight. Darn. I hate that feeling. On the good side, my clothes still fit me, so I CAN fix this.

I can remember many times in my life when I started to gain and just ignored it or justified it. I clearly remember putting on my jeans and believing that they shrunk (ha) in the dryer. They didn't. It was me that got larger!

And, when I looked back, I WISHED that at that very moment, right when it first began, I wished that I had done something about it. So, NOW I am going to do something about it. For me, gaining weight is a slippery slope and when I slide down it....it can be a fast ride. At least now I have Isa Nutritional Cleansing, it's truly a life saver. I went from a size 18 to a 10-- 5 years ago...and I am NOT going back there. No Way.

Okay. Enough. New Year's Resolution...lose the holiday weight gain! I'm following a Nutritional Cleansing schedule, and it's already working.

And, I exercised 2 days in a row so far! Yay!

A friend of mine has a new program with her church to walk 10,000 steps a day. I'm going to do that too. I have a new pedometer.

I've only had this for one day, and it has made me think a lot about walking. I went over to my daughter's house and I usually take my car, instead...I walked. And, when I walked the dog and we took a longer walk than usual. Even with all that, I am only at HALF the goal. Wow. I've got work to do!

Anyone else have a Resolution to lose weight?

.

Aaargh! It didn't fit!

I made this top as a "test" to see if I like this pattern. It didn't fit me. I was trying it on as I went along...so I thought it would fit, but NO! It's too small. Darn. I hate when that happens. I told my daughter about it and she tried it on and LIKED it...and it fit HER. So, she got a new top. Lucky girl.

It looks so good on her and it even looks good from the back. I think that I will try it again for myself and this time I know what size to make it. I guess that is why this was a "test", right?

My Beaded Scarf is done!!

I finally finished my beaded scarf. I learned SO much with this project. One thing is that I actually began to recognize the stitches and be able to "read" my own knitting. That was a true revelation!! I also learned the crab stitch to edge. I didn't know this stitch and I found instructions on YouTube. You can find ANYTHING on youtube.com!! I also learned about blocking. My first try just didn't do the trick. So, I did it again and it was great!! I love how it turned out. It's soft and wonderful.

I wear a lot of blue, it's my favorite color. I think this particular shade is bright and rich. I do NOT like the multi color yarn however, and I won't buy that again!

The bead part is a lot of work, but I just love how the beads look and feel. In fact, I have already started another scarf, green this time. It's going so much faster this time around. Not as many mistakes so far. (fingers crossed!)

I got all of my Christmas decorations put away on New Years Day (with dear hubby's help!). It was quite a marathon!!! It felt really good to get my house back to normal. It seems fresh and new. A great way to start out the New Year.

I just had to show a picture of our two kitties. They often fight over the one kitty bed, now that I know they like it, I will pick up another! Lately, they have given up fighting and decided to share. Aren't they precious??

Have a great week!!

P.S.

Check out this GREAT giveaway on Joy's Blog...it's a BIG one!!
