What am I dreading?? Today I have to do housecleaning. Yep. HAVE to. We are having a party on Friday for my Mother In Law's 80th birthday. And, it's at my house. That means I have to get it all spiffed up. And, I truly, deeply do NOT like to clean. Really. Just hate it. However, I want to create a good impression for the guests, so I will do it. Ugh. I also have to get the garden ready, as the party is outside (hoping for good weather, and it looks good so far, whew!).
This is another thing on my agenda for today. Make pillows. It's not a MUST like the cleaning, it's a WANT. I have been searching for something "spring-y" for brightening up my living room, and I just haven't found anything I like. So, I decided to cover the pillows I have. I found this lovely fabric at Roseanne's (The General Store). I don't do a lot of home decor sewing. Please wish me luck.
It's going to be 2 blue pillows and 1 Pink with the cream color in the back.
I have set my sights high with plans for a zipper and piping. Is that asking too much?
With all this "Have To" planned for today....don't be suprised if I end up visiting even more Pink Saturdays than usual. I am an expert at procrastination and avoidance.

This must sound crazy, but I love housekeeping. I wasn't always that way, but now the way I see it, it gives me a chance to see and admire my things. I know, some people think I'm nuts, buts that's ok. Come with age I think. You can do the zipper and the piping. Don't be shy, just jump right in. Happy Pink Saturday, Char

ReplyDeleteI don't like cleaning either. I don't like it so much, that I decided 20 years ago that I would put a cleaning lady in my budget and treat it like electricity. I can't have it go off! I would be lost. :-) Have fun celebrating your mother-in-laws birthday. Enjoy making pillows too. I love those fabrics.

Sometimes rearranging and making things pretty helps me get in the cleaning spirit. I take what I can out of the room, clean and then put it all back refreshed. I think the fabric is gorgeous and will help, too. Have a happy PS day!

ReplyDeleteLike Char, I usually enjoy cleaning house. It gives me a chance to "play" with my things. I know that sounds silly, but picking up a pretty piece and dusting it and maybe putting it in a new spot is just pleasurable to me!

I too hate to clean when I have to. I don't mind when I'm in the mood. I hope you get everything perfect, because if you're anything like me, it must be close to if not perfect when I have people over! Happy Pink Saturday.

You and me both hate cleaning. But oh it feels so good to have it be clean. Yesterday I was off, cuz I had to work today and I spent the time cleaning. I am trying to get the sewing room cleaned out so I can empty the closet so I can paint and redo it for more effective storage so I can find what I want easily so I can sew more often and know where things are so I can make my gifts and what not on time instead of late. So did that make any sense?? heehee. thanks for visiting me. Oh and are you still procrastinating today? Or maybe you got some sewing done?

Don't feel bad, because I hate cleaning too...But the only thing is "There's nothing like a clean house!" I just wish I could wiggle my nose and the house would be clean...I love all your pretty fabric..Love the colors...Have a wonderful week...
